The United Engine Corporation (UEC) has implemented digital equipment monitoring and is monitoring the operation of 2,500 machines in real time at 11 enterprises. The solution increases the efficiency of gas turbine engine parts production and reduces machine tool downtime by approximately 30%.
The corporation has been developing the industrial Internet of Things for several years. The digital platform automatically collects and analyzes data on equipment utilization at various sites, transmits it to a single center, and signals a decrease in productivity. The project is based on the Russian complex "Tsifra 'Dispatcher'".
In different areas, it was possible to reduce unplanned downtime by 10–30% and significantly increase equipment utilization. Currently, about 2,500 pieces of equipment are connected to the system, with plans for another 1,000 machines in the critical category.
At UEC-Saturn, a new hardware and software complex was previously developed and implemented. The time for transferring gas turbine engine parts for control measurements has decreased by 6.4 times, which reduced production losses.
In addition, UEC has developed a method for controlling and protecting gas turbine engines in the event of spontaneous changes in fuel consumption. The development is aimed at improving the reliability of aircraft power plants.
