The Togliatti-based company "Polad" has launched a new production line in Otradny, Samara Region. Now the plant produces specialized adhesives and mastics necessary for the assembly of domestic cars. The materials ensure the tightness of the body, reduce noise levels, and protect parts from temperature changes and aggressive chemical environments.
The production capacity of the line is designed to produce up to 1,500 tons of mastics and 80 tons of adhesives annually. In the manufacture of products, the company mainly uses Russian raw materials, thanks to which the level of localization reached 80%. The total investment in the project amounted to 184 million rubles.
The market for automotive chemicals in Russia has long depended on imports, which accounted for 70%. Previously, the main suppliers were factories in Russia, but they were controlled by companies from Switzerland and Germany. After reaching the planned indicators, "Polad" expects to occupy a quarter of the market and replace the departed foreign manufacturers.
Finished products have already been ordered by the largest Russian automakers. Adhesives and mastics are used in the assembly of Lada Vesta, Granta, Niva, Iskra, and Largus models. The materials are also supplied to the assembly lines of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant for the "Patriot", "Pickup", and "Hunter" models. GAZelle City and Sobol trucks are also assembled using the new chemistry. In addition, deliveries are made to the company "Automotive Industrial Technologies", which is establishing the production of JAC pickups.
