The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping has carried out an inspection of the main switchboard (MRU) intended for installation on the universal nuclear icebreaker "Stalingrad" of Project 22220. This is reported by the press service of the department.
The equipment with a nominal voltage of 10.5 kV based on KNV-10M cells was manufactured at the Cheboksary Electrical Equipment Plant (ChEAZ).
The inspection process included a review of the documentation, as well as technical supervision directly over the testing of the device at the manufacturing plant.
Rosregister found that the equipment meets the standards of safety, reliability and resistance to the effects of specific marine environment conditions.
The new nuclear icebreaker of Project 22220 was named "Stalingrad" in honor of the heroic defense of the city of Stalingrad during the Great Patriotic War. The vessel is scheduled to be launched in 2028.
