Experts see potential in using airships to organize exclusive tours of remote areas of Siberia. According to Valentin Bogomolov, co-chairman of the Krasnoyarsk branch of Delovaya Rossiya and CEO of the Siberian Financial System consulting company, this format may be of interest to wealthy travelers who are already actively visiting the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
We already have a large tourist traffic of premium tourists who visit the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. They could well afford expensive flights on airships, for example, over the Putorana Plateau. A half-hour flight for a tourist can cost from 20,000 to 50,000 rubles. For premium tourists who buy tours for 500,000 rubles, this is quite an affordable amount. Therefore, the use of airships in tourism is a niche that is not massive, but will find its client.
The specialist notes that lighter-than-air aircraft have a number of advantages for operating in arctic and subarctic zones: low noise level, the possibility of vertical take-off and landing, and minimal requirements for runways. These characteristics make them a suitable tool for delivering tourists to unique natural sites.
International practice already confirms the demand for this approach: in Canada, Scandinavia and the Arctic regions, airships are used for eco-tourism and scientific expeditions. The Russian market can adapt this experience taking into account local characteristics.
