A large contract in the field of "green" energy was received by Severstal. Its subsidiary Severstal Steel Towers will supply equipment for a new wind power plant in the Samara region for almost 26 billion rubles.

The company will manufacture 264 sets of wind turbine towers of seven types. The contract for 25.7 billion rubles became the largest in Russia in the field of supplying towers for wind turbines. The customer is Forward Energo through the Green Energy Projects company.

Deliveries will begin in June 2026 and will be completed in February 2030. The cost of one tower will be about 19.6 million rubles, excluding delivery and installation. The main part of the financing was distributed over the period 2026–2029.

Initially, it was planned to purchase equipment for the project from a Danish wind turbine manufacturer. However, after the introduction of sanctions, the foreign supplier refused to cooperate, and the project was completely transferred to Russian equipment.

The construction of a wind farm with a capacity of up to 300 MW has been discussed since 2021. The project must be fully implemented, and commissioning works must be completed by 2034.
