A phone number can be disconnected and transferred to another subscriber if there is no activity on it or a negative balance is maintained for 90 days. This was told to RIAMO by lawyer Yana Kovalevskaya.

According to her, in this case, the contract is considered terminated at the initiative of the subscriber himself - even if he did not take any action. In rare cases, the term may be 180 days, but the standard practice is exactly 90.

After the loss of the number, the operator, as a rule, does not conclude an agreement with a new subscriber for the same number for two months - this time is given to the former owner for recovery.

If the number is blocked, Kovalevskaya recommends contacting the call center or the operator's office. You should not count on compensation if the contract is terminated at the initiative of the subscriber.

You can get compensation for damage only by proving that the disconnection occurred illegally - for example, in the absence of 90 days of "silence" - and that the losses arose precisely through the fault of the operator.
