Specialists of the Novocherkassk enterprise «TMH-ElectroTech» have successfully completed the process of confirming the conformity of products to the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union. The traction synchronous generator model АТ2С-2800/650, which will be used as part of the promising main locomotive ТЭ26, has been certified.
The electric machine АТ2С-2800/650 consists of two synchronous generators placed in one housing: a main traction generator with a capacity of 2800 kW and an auxiliary generator with a capacity of 650 kW.
The functions of the unit include operation in the electric motor mode during the start-up of the diesel unit. In normal mode, the device provides energy to DC traction motors.
The auxiliary generator deserves special attention: its increased power, compared to analogues, makes it possible to simultaneously service the locomotive's own needs systems and provide power supply to passenger cars.
The new unit is an integral part of the 18-9DGM-02 diesel generator set.
The prototypes of АТ2С-2800/650 have passed a full cycle of tests: from preliminary and acceptance to certification tests. In addition, tests were carried out in real operating conditions as part of two main locomotives ТЭ26. All stages were completed successfully.
Serial production of products will begin in April 2026, as planned.
