The Ministry of Finance of Russia has increased the forecast for the collection of funds received from traffic offenders eightfold. In the current financial year, the figure may amount to 52.8 billion rubles, compared with the initially projected 6.4 billion rubles.
Money from traffic fines goes entirely to the federal budget only if the fine was issued by an official of a government body and a federal judge.
The main part goes to the regional budgets of the subject where the corresponding violation was detected, Klimanov explained. Regions use fines to install new cameras and develop road infrastructure.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the State Duma adopted a law tightening the requirements for taxi cars.
