The construction of the second windbreak screen has been completed at the "Osterra" port, which has become the highest in the region — 25 meters, which is comparable to a nine-story building. The 822-meter-long object consists of nine sections and includes 1.5 thousand tons of metal structures holding 27 thousand perforated panels. To ensure stability, a seven-meter deep foundation was used, designed for maximum wind loads.
The screen is designed to prevent the spread of coal dust into the port's water area and the nearby Toki village. Perforated panels reduce wind speed, helping particles settle inside storage areas. According to modeling and testing results, dust suppression efficiency reaches 76.5%. Commissioning is scheduled for March 2026.
The structure is part of a ring protection system of four screens with a total length of 2.5 kilometers. The first barrier is already functioning, the foundation of the third is 80% ready, and the installation of the fourth is scheduled for 2027–2028.
