According to the insider Telegram channel "Russian Automobile," the official presentation of the revived "Volga" brand will take place in the near future. It was repeatedly reported earlier that under this historical brand in Russia, they plan to produce current Geely models adapted for the local market.
Now, more detailed information about the model range has emerged. The flagship model will be the Volga K50 — essentially a rebadged all-wheel-drive Geely Monjaro crossover. It will be equipped with a two-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 238 hp (torque of 350 N·m in the range of 1800–4500 rpm), developed by Aurobay Technology (a joint venture between Geely and Volvo). The power unit will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
In addition, the presence of two more models has been confirmed:
- Volga C50 — an analogue of the Geely Preface sedan with front-wheel drive and a two-liter turbocharged engine in power output variants of 150 and 200 hp, working in tandem with a seven-speed "robotic" DCT transmission;
- the third model (presumably a crossover based on Geely Atlas / Boyue L) — will also be included in the lineup.
All three vehicles have already received Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS), but the certificates are issued for only one year. Experts attribute this short validity period either to the test nature of the launch or to plans for a quick modernization of production and possible deepening of localization.
The production of the new "Volgas" is planned to be organized at facilities in Nizhny Novgorod (company "Nizhny Novgorod Light Vehicles"). According to preliminary information, the official premiere of the brand's first model may take place as early as February 19, 2026.
The launch of the revived "Volga" is taking place in an environment where the Russian market is increasingly filled with Chinese cars under local or adapted brands. So far, exact prices, configurations, and start dates of sales have not been announced — they are expected along with the official presentation.
