An expert inspection of the water chemistry laboratory, which is part of the station's chemical department, was carried out at the Akkuyu NPP under construction in Turkey. This was reported in the press service of Rosatom State Corporation.
Specialists analyzed the water that will be used in the operation of the nuclear power plant and during preparatory work.
For a nuclear power plant, water is as strategically important element as technology. An independent assessment of the measurements of our water chemistry laboratory confirms that we are building a quality control system at the level of the best world practices.
Specialists of the water chemistry laboratory of Akkuyu NPP are engaged in sampling and analysis of samples, control of gas environments and environmental monitoring of waste water. The next stage for the laboratory is accreditation by the Turkish national body – TÜRKAK.
Akkuyu NPP will be the first nuclear power plant in Turkey. The station will include four power units based on Russian VVER generation 3+ reactors.
The project is being implemented by the Rosatom State Corporation. At the end of 2025, Russia allocated an additional 9 billion dollars for the construction of the station.
