In Russia, between 200 and 300 T-90M "Proryv" main battle tanks are built annually. This was reported by the publication "Tekhnosfera Russia," citing foreign estimates.
According to the source, deep modernization of previously produced T-72 and T-80 tanks into the T-72B3M and T-80BVM, respectively, is also continuing in Nizhny Tagil.
Official information on the production volume of the main tanks in service with the Russian army is unknown. In December 2025, President Vladimir Putin stated that the production of armored weapons had increased 2.2 times compared with the 2022 figures.
The T-90M "Proryv" will remain in service with the Armed Forces at least until 2038. However, the tactics for using the combat vehicles have undergone significant changes, as the military personnel themselves have said.
