STM-service company (part of Sinara - Transport Machines holding) announced a 7% reduction in locomotive failures in 2025 compared to the previous year. This was reported by the holding's press service.
In its work, STM-service constantly implements measures to improve the reliability of locomotive equipment, and based on the results of work in 2025, this made it possible to reduce the loss of train-hours from failures of technical equipment by 16%.
Earlier, the head of Russian Railways (RZD), Oleg Belozerov, reported that there have been no fundamental changes in the reliability of locomotives and the quality of their maintenance and repair so far.
Today, on the eastern BAM, locomotive failures are the root cause of losses in traffic volumes.
The press service of STM-service clarified that neither previously developed nor new models of locomotives produced by the Sinara Group are used on the Eastern Polygon. The company's service depot is also absent in this part of the Russian railways.
Earlier www1.ru reported that RZD will update its rolling stock in 2026.
