The Rostec State Corporation presented the latest air defense equipment at the international World Defense Show in Saudi Arabia. The exposition was organized by Rosoboronexport.
The event featured the "Pantsir-S1M", the naval "Pantsir-ME" and the latest "Pantsir-SMD-E" with 48 missiles. Rostec emphasized that the anti-aircraft systems cover the defense line from close range to medium range.
In a real combat situation, "Pantsirs" shoot down many unmanned aerial vehicles, intercept American HIMARS shells, and destroy such complex targets as ATACMS ballistic missiles and low-observable Storm Shadow cruise missiles.
The complexes can simultaneously use three types of anti-aircraft guided missiles, including the latest mini-missiles, which are most effective against small drones.
Rostec emphasized that the "Pantsir-SMD-E" with 48 missiles in its ammunition load is capable of single-handedly replacing an entire battery of other SAMs.
Earlier, High-Precision Complexes stated that the "Pantsir-ME" successfully destroys surface drones thanks to long-range target detection and tracking radars.
