Revived Volga Brand Launches Press Service

The revived Volga brand is preparing for launch in the Russian market. Production is scheduled to start in the spring of this year. The company is in full preparation for this. A press service has been created, which promised to inform about all "significant events." This is the second attempt to revive the iconic brand, now in cooperation with a new Chinese partner.

Volga already had a press service in the past during an attempt to revive it with the support of Changan. Since then, both the employees and the technology partner have changed. The new Volga models will be based on Geely platforms.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov announced last year that mass production of cars of the revived brand would start in the spring of 2026. The assembly will be carried out by JSC "Production of passenger cars" using production facilities in Nizhny Novgorod.

In 2025, several Vehicle Type Approvals were obtained for various Volga models, including the K50 crossover and the C50 sedan. In terms of their characteristics, dimensions and design, they are similar to the Chinese Geely Monjaro and Preface. The third Volga K40 model will be based on the fourth generation Atlas (Boyue L) - it was previously spotted with Volga logos.

The first attempt to revive the Volga brand was made back in 2022, when prototypes of three models were presented - the C40 sedan and the K30 and K40 crossovers, all of which turned out to be reworked Changan cars. Mass production of these cars did not take place.
