Rosstandart has issued a Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS) for the mid-size Volga K50 crossover. It is referred to as a localized version of the Chinese Geely Monjaro SUV.
According to the document, the Volga K50 will receive all-wheel drive, a 2-liter gasoline engine with 238 hp, and a hydromechanical 8-speed automatic transmission.
LLC "NLA" ("Nizhny Novgorod Light Vehicles" - a subsidiary of the Gorky Automobile Plant) submitted 2 more applications for obtaining OTTS at the beginning of December. Certificates are expected for the Volga K40 crossover and the Volga C50 sedan.
This concerns the production of other Geely models (Atlas iV and Preface) at the former plant of the German concern Volkswagen in Nizhny Novgorod. Its launch is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026.
