At the World Defense Show-2026 international exhibition in Riyadh, an official representative of JSC "UZGA" announced the supply of the VK-800SP turboprop engine for installation on the UTS-800 training aircraft. The unit is fully prepared for the start of flight tests.
The engine has been delivered for installation on the aircraft and the start of flight tests as part of the aircraft. Commissioning works are currently underway to prepare for the first flight of the UTS-800 with a new domestic power unit.
The development of the VK-800SP started in 2020 and is focused on promising projects in small and regional aviation. The family includes three models: VK-800SP, VK-800S1 and VK-800SM, each adapted to a specific type of aircraft with a power of 807 to 877 hp. In particular, the VK-800SM is designed for the LMS-901 "Baikal" light multi-purpose aircraft, and the VK-800S1 is for the Russian-Belarusian regional LMS-192 "Osvey".
As noted in UZGA, the key stage of ground tests is almost completed: 95% of the planned tests have been carried out in the thermal pressure chambers of the Central Institute of Aviation Motor Engineering named after P. I. Baranov, which confirmed the operability of the engine in all calculated modes. The next step is certification flight tests, including 11 flights for each model.
