Users of the Max messenger will be able to confirm their pensioner status without having to present paper documents. To do this, they can use a QR code directly from the application. This innovation will greatly simplify the process of obtaining social discounts, especially when making purchases at self-service checkouts.
The first company to implement this feature was the X5 network. The technology was tested in Perekrestok and Pyaterochka stores in Moscow. Currently, the QR code can be used at self-service checkouts in two pilot stores. From March, all users in X5 network stores will be able to confirm their pensioner discount using Max.
To receive a discount, you need to scan the goods at the checkout, select the "Pensioner Discounts" option, open the "Digital ID" section in your Max profile, and bring the QR code to the reader.
In September 2025, Max introduced the ability to verify age for the purchase of goods intended for people over 18 years of age. The technology is already available in more than 40 thousand stores, including Magnit, Pyaterochka, Perekrestok, VkusVill, Maria-Ra, Dixy, Lenta, Monetka and Auchan stores.
