Kolomna Plant has completed the overhaul of four 21-26DG diesel generators and shipped them to Bryansk Machine-Building Plant. The units are intended for installation on 2TE25A Vityaz main freight locomotives.
21-26DG diesel generators are a component of the power plant, developing a power of 3400 hp. Thanks to this, locomotives are able to tow trains weighing more than 6500 tons. The efficiency of the system is increased by an asynchronous main power transmission, and reliable power supply is provided by these engines.
Among the key features of the 21-26DG is an electronic pulse fuel injection system, which guarantees precise fuel metering to reduce consumption and emissions. An electronic air bypass control system is additionally installed, optimizing the flow between the compressor and the turbine to increase the overall efficiency of the unit.
To date, the plant has repaired and delivered 10 such diesel generators to the customer. Each repair extends the operational life of the equipment, increasing its reliability in the intensive conditions of freight mainlines.
