Russian military personnel have begun receiving in series the new heavy strike drone "Provod" with fiber-optic control. This was reported by designer Andrei Ivanov.
According to him, in the "Provod," engineers used their own software solutions that make it possible to transmit a signal via fiber optics over a long distance.
This is not a small 10-inch drone that would carry 1.5 kg over the same distance. This is a large strike drone that delivers two to two and a half times more.
The "Provod" flies at a distance of 25–30 km while carrying a payload of up to 4.5 kg. Positive feedback and numerous videos of the new device in use are already coming in from unmanned systems units in the troops, Ivanov concluded.
