Russian engineers have come up with a way to increase the range of fiber optic drones. Thanks to the new connection, the UAV also manages to easily bypass electronic warfare (EW) systems.
The meaning of the development lies in combining a basic drone with a combat drone using a fiber optic cable. In flight, the distance between them is changed so that each is in the right place.
The second performs a combat mission, and the first provides communication and observation, remaining outside the range of electronic warfare - eyes and hands in one bundle. The main features are that the cable is automatically shortened and stretched in flight, and is disconnected in case of strong tension.
Several combat drones can be connected to the basic drone at once. After the mission, the basic drone returns to the calculation, the cable is pulled back in.
