Range of Russian drones on fiber optics to increase 4 times: new technology bypasses electronic warfare

Thanks to the idea, the cable does not get tangled on obstacles

Russian engineers have come up with a way to increase the range of fiber optic drones. Thanks to the new connection, the UAV also easily bypasses electronic warfare (EW) systems.

The meaning of the development lies in combining a basic drone with a combat drone using a fiber optic cable. In flight, the distance between them is changed so that each is in the right place.

The second performs a combat mission, and the first provides communication and observation, remaining outside the range of electronic warfare - eyes and hands in one bundle. The main features are that the cable is automatically shortened and stretched in flight, and turns off when strongly tensioned.

Several combat drones can be connected to the base drone at once. After the mission, the base drone returns to the calculation, the cable is pulled back in.
