A special Russian Il-62 arrived in Abu Dhabi with a delegation for talks

Only six such aircraft remain in the world

On the night of February 4, a Russian Il-62 long-range turbojet airliner landed at Abu Dhabi Airport. This is evidenced by data from the Flightradar monitoring service.

The aircraft belongs to the Rossiya Special Flight Detachment and touched down at 00:10 Moscow time.

According to preliminary information, a diplomatic delegation taking part in a meeting on the settlement of an international conflict may have been on board.

Only six Il-62 aircraft in airworthy condition remain in the world. They are no longer used in passenger transportation due to excessively high fuel consumption and costly maintenance.

The airliner is equipped with four D-30KU engines and is designed for flights over distances of up to 10,000 km.
