Aluminum giant grows stronger: a new complex for 65 thousand tons of ingots is being built in Samara

SMZ will build a melting and casting shop for 1.6 billion rubles

Samara Metallurgical Plant (SMZ) is launching the construction of a new melting and casting complex. The complex's capacity will amount to 65 thousand tons of aluminum ingots per year, which will increase output by 20–25%.

The project will be implemented in 2026–2027, with the cost estimated at 1.6 billion rubles. Specialists are currently preparing the construction site.

The complex will include a stationary melting furnace, an out-of-furnace metal treatment unit, cleaning chambers, a hydraulic casting machine with an automated control system, and other equipment.

To accelerate melting and equalize the temperature in the furnace, electromagnetic stirring will be used, and process control will be automated.
