A space-focused session featuring the first republican satellite will be launched in Yakutia

The "Kosmomaniya" project will help design small spacecraft

In Yakutia, a scientific session will begin, during which the first republican satellite, "Cholbon," will be used. This was stated by Vasily Pavlov, rector of the republic's Small Academy of Sciences.

Pavlov reported that, as part of the "Kosmomaniya" project, areas related to the engineering and design of small spacecraft will be developed. The program is expected to include participation by schools from Hong Kong and southern China. The launch of "space" classes is also planned.

The "Cholbon" satellite was successfully placed into orbit on December 28, 2025. This is the first project of the Small Academy of Sciences of Yakutia. It became an important step in the republic's participation in space initiatives.

The spacecraft will carry out educational and research tasks, and will also help in testing ground-based space infrastructure. The creation of the satellite became possible thanks to students of the Small Academy of Sciences and the support of the republic's Target Fund of Future Generations.
