США бьют тревогу: российский спутник «Космос-2553» начал неконтролируемо вращаться на орбите

Spacecraft may pose a threat to other satellites

The satellite "Kosmos-2553", launched by Roscosmos in 2022, has allegedly lost control and begun to rotate erratically in space. American experts believe that the spacecraft has failed and poses a potential danger to other satellites.

According to American companies LeoLabs and Slingshot Aerospace, which monitor outer space, the Russian satellite is making erratic movements. Doppler radar and optical observations show that the device is rotating uncontrollably, which may indicate a loss of its operability.

In the US, there are suggestions that "Kosmos-2553" could be part of an anti-satellite weapon system capable of disabling entire satellite groups like Starlink. However, the Russian side has denied these claims, calling the device a research satellite.

The uncontrolled rotation of the satellite poses a serious threat to other spacecraft. In a collision, "Kosmos-2553" could damage existing satellites or create dangerous debris that would pose a threat to the entire orbital space.
