The Russian military transport aircraft Il-76MD-90A is generating huge interest worldwide, with a queue of customers lining up for it. This was announced by the head of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec), Vadim Badeha.
According to him, for a long time the main efforts were focused on meeting the needs of the Russian military.
Today, the production capacity of the Ulyanovsk aircraft factory has significantly expanded, and it has become possible to produce the Il-76, including for foreign customers. There is huge interest in it, and I can say that there is a queue for this aircraft.
The Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region, Alexei Russkikh, noted that the Aviastar plant, which produces the Il-76, was tasked with increasing production. To this end, the company introduced robotic machines to reduce the proportion of manual labor and optimize processes.
It should be noted that currently the Il-76MD-90A is only in service with the Russian Aerospace Forces.
