The EW-immune Molniya-2 drone has changed its role

The UAV has begun to be used as a "mothership"

Russian military personnel have received a new modification of the Molniya-2 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The aircraft can now serve as a "mothership" and carry other drones on its fuselage.

Photos of the new Molniya-2 have already appeared online. They show that engineers have provided mounts for FPV quadcopters on the upper part of the body. In this way, the "mothership" will be able to act as a relay platform, increasing the flight range of a small kamikaze drone.

There is no official technical information about the capabilities of the new product. It can be assumed that the twin-engine Molniya-2 has retained the ability to perform reconnaissance missions after modernization.

In December, it became known about an important upgrade to the Molniya drones — they began to be equipped with Starlink terminals for uninterrupted communication with the operator throughout the route. Nine out of ten drones successfully reach the target, and the hit rate is above 90%.
