The Russian military received a new modification of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) "Molniya-2". Now the aircraft can act as a "mother ship" and carry other drones on the fuselage.
Photos of the new "Molniya-2" have already appeared online. They show that engineers have provided mounts for FPV quadcopters in the upper part of the fuselage. Thus, the "mother ship" will be able to work as a repeater, which will increase the flight range of a small kamikaze drone.
There is no official technical information about the capabilities of the new product. It can be assumed that the twin-engine "Molniya-2", after modernization, retained the ability to perform reconnaissance tasks.
In December, it became known about an important update to "Molniya" - they began to install Starlink terminals for uninterrupted communication with the operator throughout the route. Nine out of ten drones successfully reach the target, the percentage of hits is above 90%.
