Workers at the Yaroslavl Shipyard have completed the construction of the sea tug "Kapitan Sergeev" of Project 23470. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS).
The vessel underwent the necessary tests. All mechanisms and systems operated normally.
Purpose of the Project 23470 vessel:
- towing in ice and open water
- piloting ships in ports, berthing
- firefighting on water and coastal facilities
- refloating vessels
- holding ships on course in difficult weather conditions
The ability to successfully perform escort operations is ensured by the higher seaworthiness of "Kapitan Sergeev" compared to conventional port tugs and a higher holding force.
The sea tug has an unlimited navigation area. Its length is 69.75 m, width — 15 m, displacement — 3400 tons.
