Online consultations with a therapist may be introduced in Russian polyclinics

A number of State Duma deputies sent a letter to the head of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Mikhail Murashko, in which they proposed introducing online consultations with a therapist in city polyclinics. Patients could send their requests through digital services.

The authors of the initiative believe that resolving some issues does not require a personal appointment. For example, extending a sick leave or issuing medical certificates.

We consider it advisable to introduce a full-time position of an online therapist in each state and municipal polyclinic, allocating part of the workload of this doctor to remote counseling.

Russians could send their requests to a therapist using the "Gosuslugi" portal or through digital services of the healthcare system at the regional and federal levels.

Parliamentarians are confident that this way it is possible to reduce the burden on therapists. Some patients will be able to receive help online and refuse to go to the polyclinic, the letter says.
