Будьте начеку: мошенники начали обзванивать россиян «из поликлиник»

The victim is "warned" about the upcoming cancellation of the paper medical record

A new type of digital fraud has appeared in Russia. Attackers call people and, posing as clinic employees, convince them to switch to an "electronic medical record." This is how they gain access to accounts on the "Gosuslugi" portal. This was announced by Artem Sheikin, Deputy Chairman of the Council for the Development of the Digital Economy under the Federation Council.

Another new type of digital fraud has begun to spread in Russia. Attackers call citizens, posing as clinic employees, and report the alleged upcoming cancellation of paper medical records. Under the pretext of transferring to an "electronic medical record," they ask to provide SNILS and a code from an SMS, thereby gaining access to the "Gosuslugi" account.

However, according to the senator, the attack does not end there. After hacking the portal, the victim begins to receive calls from alleged representatives of the Central Bank, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, or even Rosfinmonitoring. Russians are informed that the data has been compromised and are offered to transfer funds to a "safe account."

Everything looks very convincing, since citizens are provided with links, documents, service numbers, and recordings of conversations, Sheikin emphasized.

This scheme is another example of how digital transformation, including the introduction of electronic medical records, can be used by fraudsters. It is important to emphasize that no state clinic, no doctor requests SNILS or codes from SMS by phone. Moreover, it does not deal with the transfer of your funds.

Sheikin recalled that government agencies do not call on issues related to bank transfers. The transition to electronic medical records takes place centrally and does not require any action from citizens. The senator also noted that Russians should not report the code from messages, especially if they are received from unknown persons.

People need to be especially careful. Scammers are increasingly using words about "digitalization," "safe services," and "innovations in medicine." It is important not only to strengthen digital hygiene, but also to clearly inform people, Sheikin said. This will help prevent speculation on the topic of government reforms.

Earlier it became known that attackers are sending fake messages about checking the hot water shutdown schedule by e-mail, in messengers and social networks. The body of the letter contains a phrase like "Find out when the hot water will be turned off at your address" or "Check when the hot water will be turned off in your house" and a link leading not to an official resource, but to a fake site or to the installation of malicious software.
