Servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces should receive smart equipment with a domestic component base. This was stated by President Vladimir Putin during a meeting dedicated to the development of integrated electronics.
It is obvious that the Russian army should be equipped with smart equipment based on our own solutions.
According to the head of state, in order to maintain technological leadership in various fields, including AI, space, communications and digital technologies, competitive integrated circuits are needed. These are the most complex and science-intensive developments, he stressed. Putin called for uniting the work of scientists and microelectronics manufacturers.
What measures will be taken
An interdepartmental commission on the development of microelectronics will be created in Russia, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov and Presidential Aide Andrei Fursenko. Putin instructed to promptly consider issues and make decisions related to this area. The details of the new commission will be determined by the administration and the government of the Russian Federation, he summarized.
