Crews of the Russian Aerospace Forces' long-range aviation carried out a scheduled flight on Tu-95MS strategic missile carriers over neutral waters of the Sea of Japan. According to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defence, the duration of the air mission exceeded 11 hours.
During the mission, the Russian bombers were escorted by Su-35S and Su-30SM fighters, which provided air cover. According to the military department, such flights are conducted regularly and cover neutral waters of the Arctic, the North Atlantic, the Pacific Ocean, as well as the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea.
It is noted that all air operations of the Russian Aerospace Forces are carried out in full compliance with international norms for the use of airspace, without violating the borders of sovereign states.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Su-30SM2 and Su-24M aircraft carrying Kh-59M and Kh-25 missiles delivered precision strikes in the Baltic.
