The official opening of the forum took place on January 19 at the Qatar National Convention Centre under the chairmanship of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Later that day, delegations of foreign naval forces inspected the arriving ships, including the Russian frigate. From January 20 to 22, all exhibited ships, including "Marshal Shaposhnikov", will be open for free visits.

The armament of the frigate "Marshal Shaposhnikov", modernized under Project 1155M, aroused particular interest among specialists. The ship is equipped with 16 universal vertical launch systems (VLS) for "Caliber" cruise missiles, "Onyx" anti-ship missiles, and "Zircon" hypersonic missiles, as well as "Otvet" anti-submarine missiles.

Air defense is provided by 64 cells for the "Kinzhal" missile system. The artillery armament includes a 100-mm universal gun A-190, four 30-mm anti-aircraft guns AK-630, as well as anti-submarine weapons - two four-tube 533-mm torpedo tubes and two RBU-6000 rocket launchers.

In total, the event involves more than 200 companies and over 130 official delegations from around the world.
