Rosatom sees prospects in the Chinese market and is ready to offer new products and solutions. This was announced by Oleg Grigoriev, Senior Vice President for Commerce and International Business of TVEL JSC.
In general, our partnership with CNNC companies is developing very dynamically, including several areas at once - this is localization of production, and fuel supply for fast neutron reactors, and other topics.
Rosatom has already delivered the initial loading of nuclear fuel for the new power unit of the Chinese Tianwan NPP.
Nuclear fuel for the seventh power unit was manufactured at the Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant. This delivery was Russia's first experience in providing nuclear fuel for VVER-1200 reactors in China. Previously, similar fuel for the Tianwan NPP had already been supplied for four VVER-1000 reactors.
At the same time, the production of fuel assemblies for VVER-1000 was localized at the Yibin Fuel Plant in Sichuan Province under a TVEL license using Russian components.
Three more initial zones of the Tianwan and Xudapu NPP power units are planned to be delivered in 2026. The state corporation called such volumes of nuclear fuel shipment record-breaking within one year.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Rosatom does not need foreign composites.
