Russian authorities are taking steps to introduce a post-payment parking system. This should reduce the number of fines for motorists who do not have time to pay within the allotted time. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport in response to a request from State Duma deputies from the "New People" faction.
The parliamentarians appealed to the ministry with an initiative to provide an opportunity to pay for parking within five days.
The Ministry of Transport of Russia is preparing a draft federal law, which is considering the introduction of a mechanism for post-payment of parking sessions.
According to representatives of the ministry, this measure will not only help improve payment discipline among users of paid parking, but also reduce the number of fines for conscientious car owners.
Parking payment deadlines are set at the regional level. For example, in Moscow it is necessary to pay for parking within five minutes, and also leave the place within five minutes after the end of the session. In St. Petersburg, the payment time is 15 minutes, while the parking space should be vacated no later than 10 minutes after the end of the paid time.
