Specialists of Volga-Dnepr Airlines have developed an unusual logistics solution for transporting tunnel boring equipment on board Il-76TD-90VD. Two blocks of rotor of the middle segment of the drilling rig weighing 13 and 17.5 tons were transported from Zhengzhou to Norilsk.
Usually, only a set of special loading equipment and external cranes at the airports of departure and arrival can be used to transport such cargo.
However, in this case, due to the tight deadlines on the Chinese side, it was impossible to implement the company's existing standard method of loading heavy single cargoes.
Specialists of the cargo planning center developed a new technology for loading single cargoes without the use of automobile cranes in the shortest possible time. The team proposed using a high loader and special loading equipment, equipment that is available in the company.
