Roskomnadzor Initiates Cases Against 33 Telecom Operators

Providers violated the rules for working with technical means of countering threats

Roskomnadzor plans to bring 33 telecom operators to justice for non-compliance with the requirements for installing technical means of countering threats (TSPU). These hardware and software systems are needed to filter traffic with prohibited content. A total of 35 cases of violations were detected on the operators' networks.

Courts have already taken place in four cases, and fines have been issued to violators. Materials on six facts have been sent to court. The remaining operators were summoned to draw up protocols.

Fines for such violations vary depending on the status of those held accountable. Officials will have to pay from 30 thousand to 50 thousand rubles, individual entrepreneurs - from 50 thousand to 100 thousand rubles, and legal entities - from 500 thousand to 1 million rubles.

For repeated пропуска traffic bypassing TSPU, officials and entrepreneurs face criminal liability under Article 274.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for up to three years of imprisonment.
