The "KOM" group from Naberezhnye Chelny, together with the Yelabuga Automobile Plant, has developed a hydromechanical gearbox (HMPP) for special equipment. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan.
The reason for the project was the sanctions and the shortage of critical suspension components. Russian machine builders faced these problems.
The project to create a domestic HMPP received grant support from the Agency for Technological Development, which is operated by the "Industrial Development Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan" JSC.
The HMPP successfully passed bench and road tests, and then received a certificate confirming its domestic origin. The first contract for the supply of 200 gearboxes has already been concluded with ElAZ.
Earlierwww1.ru reported that in the Tula region, it isplanned to localize the production of gearboxes for modern cars.
