This was stated by Andrey Kaprin, General Director of the National Medical Research Center (NMRC) of Radiology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
According to the chief oncologist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the scientific institution is developing new diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceutical drugs.
And the country has all the necessary scientific, production and technological resources to move towards greater independence.
The main focus of laboratory research remains the creation of compounds that will accurately deliver the radionuclide to the cancerous tumor for its visualization or therapy.
In addition, experts are working on creating specific atoms with specific characteristics. Methods for obtaining key radionuclides have long been developed in Russia. These technologies demonstrate the maturity of the competencies of domestic scientists, the oncologist summarized.
