Iran is preparing to launch local assembly of Lada cars. Production will be organized at the Pars Khodro plant, where cars will be assembled from imported Russian car kits. This approach will reduce costs compared to importing finished cars, according to Charkhan.com.
Pars Khodro will become AvtoVAZ's main partner in promoting Lada in the Iranian market. The distribution firm Nika Motor, previously responsible for distribution, will reduce its participation in the project until new agreements are concluded with the Russian side.
Plans for Lada to enter the Iranian market have been discussed for more than two years. In the spring of 2025, AvtoVAZ head Maxim Sokolov announced his intention to open the brand's first dealership in the country. Now the project is entering the stage of practical implementation: small-scale assembly from Russian components will allow for more flexible logistics and faster adaptation of cars to local operating conditions.
