The arrival of the super-heavy transport aircraft An-124 "Ruslan" at Chubu Airport caused a noticeable resonance in Japan. One of the largest serial cargo aircraft in the world impressed local specialists and observers with its size and engineering scale.
Japanese representatives of the aviation community noted that against the background of the usual civil and cargo liners, the An-124 looks like a real "sky giant". According to their assessment, the aircraft gives the impression of a "flying monster" dominating the runway and visually surpassing most modern aircraft.
An-124 was created for the transportation of super-heavy and oversized cargo. Its length exceeds 69 meters, its wingspan is more than 73 meters, and its maximum carrying capacity reaches 120-150 tons. The spacious cargo compartment and the presence of bow and stern ramps allow transporting large industrial and special equipment without disassembly.
According to Japanese observers, the rare appearance of such an aircraft became a clear demonstration of the capabilities of heavy transport aviation and a reminder of why the An-124 is still considered a legend in its class.
