The aviation component of Russia's Strategic Nuclear Forces continues to be updated. This was stated by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Valery Gerasimov, during a briefing for foreign military attachés.
The Tu-160 and Tu-95MS aircraft in combat are being modernized by equipping them with more powerful engines and new onboard equipment, as well as expanding the range of aviation weapons.
According to him, modernized Tu-160M missile carriers are being delivered to the Russian Aerospace Forces. In 2025, the naval component of the Strategic Nuclear Forces was replenished with the nuclear submarine cruiser "Knyaz Pozharsky".
Thus, the share of modern weapons in the strategic nuclear forces reached 92%, Gerasimov summarized.
