T-80BVM tank sets new firing range record

The crew managed to hit a target at a distance of 11 km

The Russian modernized T-80BVM tank has set a new record for firing range. This was reported by the press service of Uralvagonzavod (part of Rostec).

The company noted that the T-80BVM tank gun managed to hit a target from a distance of 11 km. Modern sighting devices and a fire control system are responsible for the sniper accuracy of the combat vehicle.

Recall that the main gun of the T-80BVM tank is a 125-mm 2A46M-4 smoothbore gun. This gun provides high firepower and allows the use of various types of ammunition, including HEAT and armor-piercing subcaliber.

The loading machine has been modified to use modern 3BM59 Svinets-1 and 3BM60 Svinets-2 shells.
