Lada Iskra, Vesta, and Aura to Get Climate Control and New Engines in 2026

AvtoVAZ Prepares Vesta Sport and Lada Azimut Crossover for Mass Production

In 2026, AvtoVAZ plans to update its model lineup and introduce new options, including the long-awaited climate control, on Lada Vesta, Lada Iskra, and Lada Aura. Previously, the appearance of Vesta with climate control was expected by the end of 2025, but the option was postponed to the first half of 2026, according to RCI News.

Key innovations and plans of VAZ for 2026:

  • Lada Vesta, Lada Iskra, and Lada Aura will receive new options, including climate control, as well as upgraded 1.6 and 1.8 engines (120–132 hp) to improve dynamics.
  • Lada Vesta Sport with a boosted 1.8 EVO engine (145 hp, 184 Nm) and a 6-speed manual transmission will go on sale in the first half of 2026. The preliminary price is 2.7 million rubles.
  • Lada Niva Legend will receive a new 1.8 VAZ-11184 naturally aspirated engine (90 hp, 153 Nm) tentatively in May–June 2026.
  • Lada Azimut, a new "B+" class crossover, will begin mass production in the summer of 2026 on the upgraded Vesta platform.

In total, about 400,000 LADA cars are planned for production in 2026, the year of the plant's 60th anniversary.

Thus, 2026 will be a year of significant updates to the Lada model range and options, with an emphasis on comfort, performance, and expansion of the powertrain lineup.
