UAZ plans to start selling the updated UAZ "Patriot" SUV before Q3 2026. This was announced by the General Director of the plant, Alexey Spirin. Photos of the updated model have appeared.
The car will be equipped with a new 2.0-liter 130 hp engine from the Sollers Argo commercial vehicle. A 6-speed manual transmission will also be used.
Visually, the updated "Patriot" stands out with new fully LED headlights. The SUV's interior will feature an updated steering wheel, tunnel, and instrument panel. The new modification is currently undergoing testing.
The upgrade of the power unit and transmission is a significant step for UAZ, especially given past problems with engine traction and mechanical transmissions. The new version with a diesel engine may attract new customers, while the gasoline modification with the ZMZ PRO engine will remain on sale. The diesel version is expected to be 10–12% more expensive than the gasoline version. The exact cost will be announced closer to the start of sales.
