Love and Space: Blogger Proposes to Insta-Model Against Backdrop of Soyuz-2.1a Rocket Launch from Baikonur

The event took place at the official observation deck during the launch of the Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft

Well-known video blogger and podcaster Grigory Mastrider (YouTube channel "Book Dude") proposed to Insta-model Katerina Rys directly during the launch of the Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

The event took place at one of the distant observation platforms for observing launches, where viewers usually watch the launch with binoculars.

The video shows Grigory asking Katerina to turn around. When the girl fulfills his request, the man gets down on one knee and proposes.

Rys smiles and agrees, after which the couple kisses against the background of the soaring rocket.

Access to the Baikonur observation platforms is strictly regulated. The distant platforms, from where Mastrider and Rys watched, are usually equipped with binoculars, and a pass is issued in advance through a tour operator, since the cosmodrome is a restricted facility. Launches of ships do not happen often, so tours are planned in advance.

The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a rocket with the Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome took place on November 27. On board was the main crew of the 74th expedition to the ISS — cosmonauts Sergei Kud-Sverchkov and Sergei Mikaev, as well as astronaut Christopher Williams. They will spend 242 days in orbit and return to Earth in July 2026.

The rocket launch was successful, the ship was put into orbit and successfully docked with the ISS. However, part of the launch pad was damaged during the launch. Roscosmos confirmed the damage to structural elements, noting that the incident did not affect the flight and safety of the crew.
