«Soyuz MS-28» crew arrived at the ISS

There are now 10 people on the station

The crew of the International Space Station has increased to 10 people. This happened after the successful arrival of the «Soyuz MS-28» spacecraft. It launched with the «Soyuz-2.1a» rocket on November 27, 2025.

The spacecraft docked automatically to the «Rassvet» module of the Russian segment of the ISS on November 27 at 15:34 Moscow time. Before opening the hatches, certain preparatory work was required. According to NASA, the hatches opened at 18:16 Moscow time.

Cosmonauts Sergei Kud-Sverchkov, Sergei Mikaev, and Christopher Williams were greeted on board the ISS by members of the 73rd long-term expedition: Sergei Ryzhikov, Alexei Zubritsky, and Oleg Platonov from Roscosmos, NASA astronauts Jonathan Kim, Zena Cardman, and Edward Fink, as well as JAXA astronaut Kimiya Yui.

The «Soyuz MS-28» crew will become part of the 74th long-term expedition to the ISS, which will begin in December. The three new members will be on board the space station for about eight months, after which they will return to Earth in the summer of 2026.
