A serial fifth-generation Su-57 fighter with open central internal weapon bays was spotted at one of the airfields of the Russian Aerospace Forces. This rare shot allowed experts to assess the real dimensions and combat layout of the internal weapons of the promising Russian fighter.
According to the analysis of military expert Evgeny Damantsev, the two central compartments of the Su-57 can accommodate either a combination of two Kh-58UShK anti-radar missiles and two long-range air-to-air R-VVB-BD missiles, or up to four low-observable Kh-59MK2 long-range cruise missiles.
This flexibility in configuration emphasizes the versatility of the Su-57 — from suppressing enemy air defense systems to conducting air combat at ultra-long ranges without losing stealth.
