The Russian car fleet continues to age rapidly. This was announced by the Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov.
The average age of passenger cars has reached 16 years. As for trucks and buses, this figure has increased to 19 years.
According to Anton Alikhanov, importing used cars into Russia is more profitable than importing new or "fresh" cars (up to three years old). The reason is the customs tariff that developed after joining the World Trade Organization.
And the peculiarities of the customs tariff, they consolidated, even strengthened the processes of not updating, not rejuvenating the fleet. This is a very bad indicator.
It is expected that the new recycling fee for cars with engines of 160 hp and above will rejuvenate the car fleet.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that an "electronic recycling fee" was developed in the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
