AvtoVAZ registered the trademark Niva Tour, a source in the automotive industry reported on November 28, 2025. The right to use the name is registered under the 12th class of the International Classification of Goods and Services (cars and components) and is valid until 2035.
Formal registration does not guarantee that a production model will be released under the name Niva Tour. However, AvtoVAZ previously worked on an extended version of the Lada Niva Travel SUV, where the rear overhang was increased to accommodate a spare wheel in the trunk.
The actual timing of the project launch is still uncertain. In October 2025, it became known that the development of the extended version had been suspended; its mass production, according to forecasts, may not be possible until 2029.
Registration of new brands is part of AvtoVAZ's broader strategy. Previously, the company had already registered new names for models and trim levels, including Lada Salut.
